His Own New Room

Yesterday I bought some new furnitures for Mal, a cute cloth hanger and a matching stool with pencil-like legs attached to it. I decided to clean up the 2 empty rooms. As usual he was excited and happy to see me use the vacuum cleaner. After cleaning the room, I asked him which room he likes…he went to the one with light attached to the ceiling fan, by the way, he loves fan and lights! Taking that as a sign that he prefers the one with light attached to the ceiling fan, I started shifting his toys and furniture to the room. I also shifted his bathing stuff to the bathroom next to that room. After bathing him, he immediately ran to the room and lie on the carpet, with towel wrapped around him, wanting me to change him there. I told him since he likes the room so much, we shall shift his bed over. He seem to like the idea and help me pull out his mattress from our room.

We played in the room for a while and when it was time to sleep, he happily lay there to be fed. Very soon he dozed off. I was excited…as the day has finally come…Malcolm is sleeping in his OWN room!

However, he did not sleep through the night on his own. He woke up around 1 plus and wanted me to carry him to our room so that he can sleep with us. I understand that perfectly cos even myself had grown so used to have him sleep with us…and that was only 1 1/2 year for me…for him…he knew this sleeping style since he was born! I realised how attached I was to him after I watched him sleep on his own, in his own room ….
