On Monday, my boy complained over lunch that school wasn’t fun. His teacher was not around, the class was splitted into smaller groups, they were told to join other classes. He was one of the 4 students who joined an older group.
I believed that he wasn’t enjoying and it bothered him enough to tell me. So, the only natural thing for me to do was, to grant him the afternoon off.
Instead, we baked.
We mix, we stir, we mould.
We did craft,
We cut, we paint, we glue
We gave his hair a much needed trim,
after loads of bargaining and negotiation.
and we ended the day with
a box full of yummlicious oatmeal cookies,
a french stealthy raptor ?
a much neater Malcolm
and a very shack out ME !

Good for you! He will remember you heard his heart, and that his feelings mattered to you.
Awww…must’ve been a really nice afternoon for him !!
Though I’m not really a ‘cooking’ fan, I’d love to try out what baking is like though… The only problem, we don’t have an oven here at our place…

HAHAHAHA…love your last comment!!!
But it sure was a good dal for Malcolm! And the cookies look soooo yummy!
Definitely a much happier boy and a exhausted but satisfied mommy… *smile*
think mommy did a better job than school! impressive! all these done in just 1 afternoon?? In school, they would have do it in spread of weeks!
Well done, mommy!
hi thefarmerfiles,
thank you.
that is so nice to hear
hi leonny,
he enjoys molding the cookies and seeing how they will turn out after the bake.
hi ann,
hmmm, glad it is not too crude for u. we finished all the cookies
hey angeline,
u bet! I need more stamina!
hey blessed mum,
thanks! yeah, we squeezed everything in an afternoon. That is the amount of things u need to do with a kid if u want to give them your 100% attention! I don’t do that everyday!
your never ending energy..
his stealth looks damn gd!
I am sure he definitely enjoys time with Mummy vs going to school.
Love that airplane that he made. Good use of toilet paper rolls, I assume?
hey hoonie, that’s y I need to jog! cos I think motherhood requires stamina MORE than anything! haha
hey Rachel,
U r rite, we used toilet roll and card board for this.
