3 down, 1 to go

The weather is so unbearable these days
It’s just so freaking hot outside
and staying home with two cranky sick boys is the surest way to drive anyone insane

Yes the nasty flu bug has gotten us
The boys took turn to fall ill
It started off with Marcus having a fever tipping at 40 deg celsius
and I panicked

How did my precious baby, who is getting all the readily made antibodies from me, succumb to the virus
Reason being obvious, I did not have them myself

So we waited 2 hours at the pediatric just to have the doctor tell us that
YES, he is having a fever
YES, it was a viral infection
and shoved to us some over the-counter-drugs which we already started giving him

For the next 3 nights, I woke up every hour to feed him
It wasn’t because the sick baby suddenly had a ferocious appetite but more because he needed some comfort
and the breasts seem like the easiest and surest way to meet his needs

So when comfort and food share a common source
you get an over fed baby who throws up half of what he is fed
while the parents have fun cleaning up the mess in the wee hours
Eeewww !

Then just when the baby was recovering
it was the elder one’s turn
and we told him that perhaps he will get his school holiday a week earlier than his friends
It is almost 3 days into the week and he is still absent from school

As I sit here writing
I am glad that both boys are recovering
Now, I am feeling the exhaustion myself
as the adrenalin fades away
a burning sensation as I swallow my saliva
a little tickling feeling in my nose

I read the ear thermometer
..
….
37.4 deg celsius

I think I need some good rest here
