Resilience

I caught a glimpse of colours from afar

So a detour I made to the wreckage where these trees stood

This time slightly smarter than before

I no longer climbed over highway barricades

but I did wade through muddy fields

I no longer balanced clumsily on rocks

for the fields I walked brought me under their naked contorted branches

My eyes weren’t playing tricks

There were indeed colours

Colours of life

Life amidst adversity

Resilience is making a comeback despite the odds

If only I knew how to give that gift to our children

They will be made for life

Note : About 2 months ago,  I was quite sure these trees wouldn’t survive (Progression … Destruction)

It is heartening to know that they made it through
